Alessandra Poroj is the owner of the WOWD (Women of Worth & Destiny) Center for Wellness. She is The Self-Care Architect, curating self-care experiences for women deeply rooted in practices that allow you to experience transformative rest.
Alessandra is a Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy and Howard University School of Divinity graduate. She has practiced pharmacy for over 20 years. She experienced burnout several times and watched other women constantly running on empty due to an absence of or inconsistent self-care. These experiences, along with a deep knowing that she wasn’t walking fully in her divine destiny, led to a career pivot and an exploration of transformative self-care practices.
This amazing journey has resulted in Alessandra becoming a 500-hr trained yoga teacher with additional hours of training in restorative yoga; Reiki practitioner; Thai foot and Thai yoga bodywork practitioner; yoga nidra and meditation guide; and certified pre/postnatal yoga instructor. Alessandra created WOWD as a sacred space for restorative self-care practices that allow for transformative shifts in the body, mind, and spirit that strengthen, heal and empower high-achieving and high-performing Black women. She partners with women, tapping into the magical and restorative power of rest to support them on their journey to remember and reclaim their authentic selves, and reconnect with and re-know their worth so that they may walk fully and boldly in their divine destiny.
